A FLIGHT DECK IN A DIFFERENT DIMENSION.
A working 1:8 scale airliner cockpit, created as a substantial display model and an absorbing build. The Twinjet 800 captures the character of the flight deck through light, movement, sound and finely observed detail.
◆ ANIMATED GLASS COCKPIT
The flight displays are genuinely animated, with moving instruments, navigation and engine information bringing the instrument panel to life.
◆ COCKPIT ILLUMINATION
Backlit panels and carefully layered instrument lighting recreate the unmistakable atmosphere of a flight deck after dark.
◆ MOVING CONTROLS & SOUND
Yokes, throttles and trim mechanisms add real movement, while aircraft-inspired sound gives the completed model a presence of its own.
◆ REAL MATERIALS
Formed aluminium exterior panels, clear acrylic windows, fine fasteners and precision-made components give the model convincing depth and substance.
◆ A COMPLETE BUILD EXPERIENCE
A carefully staged kit with prepared electronics, clear instructions and dedicated setup tools—complex enough to be rewarding, without making the electronics the project.
◆ BUILT TO HAVE PRESENCE
Approximately 45 cm wide, the finished Twinjet is substantial enough to command attention while remaining at home on a desk, shelf or studio display.
THE STORY BEHIND FLIGHTDECK MODELS
Flightdeck Models is a small independent British business being built by Steve Everson and his wife, Vicky. It grew from our shared enthusiasm for aviation, modelling and making unusual things that deserve to exist.
Steve brings more than 30 years of professional outside broadcast engineering, alongside previous experience designing and building full-size flight simulation equipment. That background provides the technical foundation for the Twinjet 800; together, we are shaping Flightdeck Models into the kind of specialist model company we would want to buy from.
We care about the details that make a finished cockpit feel convincing: displays that move, light reflected in the windows, controls with mechanical character and materials that look and feel right. The Twinjet 800 is our first model, with further distinctive flight decks planned for the future.
◆ FROM CAD TO COCKPIT
The Twinjet 800 is now moving through detailed prototype development. The structure, exterior, panels, displays, lighting, controls, sound and software are being refined as parts of one complete model.
Build Notes will share the experiments, decisions and progress behind the project—giving anyone who wants the technical detail a clear view of how the model is being developed.
